Low-Cost Software Defined Radio Compatible with Many SDR Software Packages. R820T Tuner & ESD-Safe Antenna Input, Guaranteed $ *NEW*
[The software for this SDR radio can be freely downloaded from here: http:///store/nesdr-mini-rtl2832- at the VERY BOTTOM of the page you will see DOWNLOAD... click that. you'll see "SDR# Auto-Installer" this is the software you want to download and install. This is for the beginner to average user and is a lot more friendly. If you are a HAM or extremely familiar with radio theory and want to do more stuff get the software labeled "HDSDR Software".
This is a Software Defined Radio (SDR) it will receive from about 25mhz to 1750mhz. That is a huge range of frequencies. Obviously all of your law enforcement, fire and EMS are in this range. You can listen to them or ham radio easily. Note: it will work with that little antenna that you see in the photo. It will work fine. However, one of the discone antennas below will literally give you 100 TIMES better reception than this little antenna. Like I say, its all about the antenna. Start with this antenna, then upgrade if you so desire.
